In our Writing to Heal group, we’ll use writing as a form of therapy for the mind and body. By doing structured exercises, and receiving feedback on your work, you’ll be able to focus on personal growth issues, problem solving, and creative expression.
Each week, we’ll use expressive writing as a tool to help you better understand yourself, your experiences, and your relationships. Research has shown that this type of writing offers a whole host of benefits: improved mood and well-being, reduced stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms, increased resilience and better sleep—it can even improve your physical health, reduce your blood pressure, and increase your immune system functioning!
The group will meet for five consecutive weeks, with each session lasting for one hour. My approach provides structure in order to enhance safety, release, and discovery through writing, and I’ll often tailor exercises to your specific objectives.
You don’t have to be a “good” writer—or even have any previous writing experience—to benefit from Writing to Heal. An open mind, a pen, and a piece of paper are all you’ll need.
